About Our Office
Advanced Hearing Services was founded in 1994 by Audiologists Theresa Jabaley and Gail Gudmundsen to provide top quality audiology and hearing aid services to people in the downtown area of Chicago, to physicians, the city dwellers and the thousands of musicians, business people and office workers in Chicago. In these 14 years, we have been part of the revitalization of the downtown Theatre District and the conversion of many office and factory buildings to the latest loft and living spaces. At the same time, we have grown with the changes in technology that have brought us better ways to help and protect the hearing of more people.
We have seen some of the most famous ears in Chicago - writers, musicians, actors - and also those of students, waiters, firefighters, teachers, ministers, parents and grandparents. We believe that everyone who comes to Advanced Hearing deserves our attention, understanding and our respect as we work together to bring the pleasure of conversation and the joy of music into their lives.
Gail Gudmundsen has gone on to complete her Au.D. degree and is the Head of Sales and Marketing at Etymotic Research in Elk Grove Village. Theresa Jabaley continues to manage the office and all the clinical activities. From the beginning, each of us made a statement of what we wanted the office to be. For Gail, it was 'I want everyone to care enough about their hearing to have a hearing test. For Theresa, it was, "I don't want anyone to stash hearing aids in the dresser drawer and never use them." We still care about these same things: the value of good hearing and success with hearing instruments.
